Time is flying

Hard to believe, but in two weeks time most of the pups will have flown the nest. I have to be honest and say I was concerned about coping with two litters together, but these pups have just been a dream, the two litters became one a fortnight ago, something that both Mums were fine with, once again the whole of both litters comprises of friendly confident pups, one or two are a bit quieter, which balances out a couple of hoodlums that are also present, lol.

It would be a lie to say they were housetrained, but a start is being made, the pups are put to bed at around 10:30pm, we don't hear a peep from them until I go down in the morning (usually between 7 and 8:30am) , Graham gets up much earlier but even though they must hear him, they remain settled. For the last week they have been almost clean overnight with regard to poos and just a few wees. They are put out 1st thing in the morning and I feel like the pied piper leading 13 pups out of the lounge, through the hall and down the step to their outside area, where they can have their breakfast and relieve themselves.

They are in and out for the rest of the day and then spend the whole of the evening in the lounge with us. Because of the level of activity it is not practical to try and keep the webcam on during the day, it will however be on most evenings between about 8:30pm and 10:30pm.

They had their 1st experience with the clippers this week, revealing beautiful poodle heads :-) They are used to all normal household noises and activities and as we have been having some major repairs done to the house, they have also become accustomed to pneumatic drills, cement mixers and falling masonry!

Manuel has been giving them lessons in how to behave around cats, when he is in the mood they are allowed to play with him and climb over him, however, they also now know that if he looks at them in a certain way, they had better give him a wide berth, lol.

Just 2 black boys remain homeless, they are Orange collar, a beautiful compact boy, very confident and friendly, and red collar, a taller, finer boy who is always in the middle of whatever is going on. Both these boys will make wonderful pets, Orange boy is Spirits baby, Red boy is Audrey's.

Miss Tibb's kittens have turned into little puddings, as seems to be the norm for me I got the sex of one of the kittens wrong, the blue/white kitten is a little girl, she has already opened her eyes, as has her lilac brother, the little chocolate girl (fattest of the lot) doesn't seem to be in any hurry to open hers.

Puppies AND kittens :-)

The pups continue to come on in leaps and bounds, and thanks to the wonderful weather that we are currently enjoying, they have started to have outings into the garden. Not only is this great stimulus for them it also is the beginning of house training, an added bonus is that, for the time being, it absolutely wears them out and they are sparko for several hours after they have come back in :-)

Orange collar, who is a small but well proportioned and very self assured but sociable boy, black collar who is a quieter boy, loves a cuddle, who I think will form a very strong bond with the right owner, medium build has a good coat, and red collar, a cheeky happy chap, the largest of the3 available boys, but not a big puppy, are still available.

One day my girls will do me a favour and have their babies at a reasonable time, Tibbs was in labour most of yesterday, but only started to get serious about it at around 11pm, her 1st kitten, a chocolate girl, was born shortly after midnight, her 2 brothers were slow to follow with the blue and white boy arriving shortly after 3 am and finally the lilac boy made his appearance at about 5:30am. They are all doing very well, Tibbs is an experienced mum and the kittens have all got nice round tummies :-) I will be pleased to see my bed tonight!

Just a few pics

Puppies are coming on in leaps and bounds now, won't be long before they start to discover the great outdoors. Scroll to the bottom to see a couple of video clips, they were just 4 weeks old when these were taken. I still have 3 black boys who are waiting for their perfect family to find them.

Sybil

We are in total shock, today Sybil was hit by a car (that didn't stop) and was killed instantly. Sybill was quite simply the best cat ever, known for her romantic liaisons with the local romeos and her love of food, she was also an incredible mother and the most tolerant cat with all the pups. Can't write anymore, too upset, she was my girl.

Trouble is coming

What a difference a week makes, they are growing so fast now, tails have started wagging and both litters have had organised escape parties, before they are 3 weeks old! Really starting to see proper puppies now instead of little sausages. Spirits pups have started eating solids, absolutely no hesitation from any of them, cleared the bowl within minutes. All my pups are weaned directly onto raw meat and so far they have all thrived on it. Audrey's pups will have their 1st taste of meat tomorrow and I have no doubt that they will be just as keen to devour their lunch.

The webcam continues to follow the pups progress, just wait for the advert to finish and click the link on the right side of this page if you want to have a nose. I update the blog on a weekly basis (approx) but if you want to see pics more frequently and are on facebook, send me a message and a friends request as I post the odd shot on there most days.

There are currently 2 black boys available from Spirits litter and 1 black boy available from Audrey's litter. Please don't let the fact that they are males put you off, many people will testify to the really loving nature of the boys, in fact it is often said that the girls will love you but the boys will be in love with you :-) Also, with regard to people worrying about boys lifting their leg indoors, I have 3 entire boys, and even when the girls are in season my boys wouldn't dream of scent marking in the house, nor do I have to separate the boys from each other, they all get on really well together. If you are interested in a boy and would like to discuss any of the above, please give me a ring. Due to unfortunate circumstances, the couple who were going to have Audrey's larger apricot girl have had to pull out, so she is now looking for another family.

Cats got some new furniture :-)

Just so they don't feel left out, the cats have been treated to some new beds and a huge scratch post, I think it met with their approval. Tibbs is 2 weeks away from her due date and has a distinct preggers tummy, Bob has 5 weeks to go and is still managing to hide hers. Sybil however, is just fat!
